Another Little Collage
Another digital collage down. I am really getting into the groove so to speak. It is nice when you feel you have a clear image of what you want on paper or computer screen. But it has not always been that way. I have had to keep running over in my mind what my mother use to say "fill up the page Edie" She would make me do that before she would ever tear out another page for me to scribble on.
I got to playing around with templates and thought I would live out my other lives. Doing this mok advertisement with all the "hand sewn" and "Tailor fit" I could just see my store in London vying for the the coveted "appointment to the queen" stamp.
Well until next time cheers have a cuppa on me at tea time. Hey and don't forget I will be opening a store up in Etsy. with my collage sheets. Post me a comment if you are interested and be sure to follow me here so you can keep up with the listings and postings.

Just a few quick works
I just had to pause for a moment today and blog about my new work. I love doing these digital collages. And the fact that it is 7 pm and no dinner is in the oven and I am still up here doing these things is proof enough. I think I should make a Tee-shirt that says I would rather be looking for Mr. Darcy LOL. But my Mr. Darcy is just around the corner and still at work also.
I have even found time to do a little bit of designing for business cards. The fun is also making up names and business for the templates that are used. Here is one that is great and could be used for introduction cards or even as gift tags. OMG I love tags.

I set to work this morning with one thing on my mind..... To clean the studio. I came in and promptly sat down and started to work on my art. That is right the thoughts of cleaning went right out the provable window. I came up with this card instead. This work, completely done in Photoshop with some clip art that I scanned in just creates an air of ...vintage. I loved it. I have work up some different products with this rose theme.
When I think of Mother of coarse I think of my own! But I also think of the "Mothers" of yesteryear, of things locked away in attics. Of that wonderful discovery when you open that trunk that someone has forgotten and the lives of those who have long since walked out and into the next life spill out. I love to create things that look old and forgotten and become treasures. Things that have no time limit but inspire you to revisit those quite places in your soul and mind.
One of my favorite flowers are roses. The sent the smell and color to me are just wonderful. Today I have put together a Mother's Day package. Really this could be used for anyone not just Mothers. The Stationary and matching Postage are great to give and to treat yourself. Just imagine yourself sitting down at an old writing desk and dipping your pin in some rich ink and creating a wonderful letter to send to a friend or loved one. Don't forget to give it a couple of quick sprays of your perfume for that extra touch.
Another Product was this mug. Now not being a fan of "mugs" in general I thought that I would add some matching roses to this one and create that special feel that the stationary and the card created. This mug I liked... Oh not only because it was one that I did but because it was one that could brighten up your day. The verse that is on the side can be replaced by something else also so it makes it very versatile and creative for anyone.
Last but not least this bag. This is just great to place fantastic things in for gifts or just to take shopping and carry home treasured finds.

In Between sewing and knitting
It is no wonder when I go on the binges like sewing, knitting, quilting, graphics, that something suffers such as weeding, yard work, etc,. I have had to start making list of things that I have to do just to keep the normal things in life such as dust cat and dog hair and yes that ever growing pile of laundry. I have also notice cobwebs. WTF. The only consolation with not dusting is that you can see the cobwebs more clearly and thus you can get them down in the entirety. So I guess there is a plus side. Since the air is at a "sensitive" warning (meaning those with allergies or asthma are to avoid prolonged exposure to the outside environment) I must limit my outside excursions. Oh joy! Now I really must clean the inside. But I am in the studio which means my rabbit wired brain will put off the large cleaning duties until later (much later) and now I will devote my time to finishing up a project for the quickly approaching day in which we honor our Mothers. For now here is a little something that I have been working on in the graphic department. In this simple design I have used replacement color on the female image to add some color, while in the back ground I have used some brushes that I have created in the studio to add some transparent roses to give it a soft look. The border again has had brush work applied and then layered with a shadow and embossing applied for a simulated lace work look. The font was simply masked and then cut so it give a 3-D look to the finished product.
Once again using a masking technique I have taken just them "M" for mother and masked the text and created a clipping mask with a floral pattern underneath. Something that relates to an idea or association to the subject matter that I am currently working on. So anything could be used.
I love this image because it truly brings out the spring idea. Using collage techniques and clipping masks this image is found on almost every thing from mouse pads to shopping bags.

A sudden burst of energy
I started the other day creating some collages with my niece in mind. Her excitement for her new arrival "Faith" must be contagious because I have had baby on the brain. I have thought of all the neat things you can get or do or create for the new addition.
This mug for example I think is just great with the ability to place your birth information on it. I love that aspect of creating with this web site. Let me say that if you need something done and you would like to contact me feel free.
This also was created to go with this line and to use when you are sealing your envelopes or sealing a special package. I mean it just adds to the look of gifts and special things. Why you could even take these in the delivery room to stick on friends and family. (but why do that when Zazzle offers pins)
Of coarse I also designed cards to go with all the good stuff so that everything is matching. I will have to put up more products tomorrow as I am running out of time here and must cook and clean for my little family.
