The Magic of Vision
Covered bridge by Edith Schmdit

This image is a photograph that I took near my home in Tennessee.  This covered bridge is one of my favorite places to visit. Of coarse it brings out the little girl in me that feel in love with covered bridges that since of feeling it is part of the magic in life.  I wanted to give it a feel of a painting.  Something that some artist would have done with oils while musing at a bridge that was long ago. This image is available for purchase at my Jeweled Frog Image Kind Store
Here is the image as it was taken.Covered Bridge
Finally as an over lay and a point of interest to bring it all together I use the Walt Whitman Poem "Pioneers Oh Pioneers"
This to me creates the hart beat of the image.
Lady Of Light
This is my second image that I have created this past week.

Again using from the wonderful images that the Graphics Fairy has posted I have taken one from the Vintage seed catalog  and one that had a Victorian Lady with Parasol  and some of the Graphic Fairy's postcards for writing effect and a stamp that appears in the upper right hand corner.  I have taken these and layered them in varying blending options over a rusted background to give it that old shabby style.

Nursery Rhyme Tags

I am so excited to present my new "Tag Art" inspired from some vintage children's books that I have had,  some of which were my Mother's.  Their simple drawings and bright colors on aged paper make them perfect for creating some nifty tags to use in all manor of paper crafting.
What ya get!
As you can see there are three sheets of image work.  9 original works created from these wonderful children's books each tag is 2.6 x 3.1.  I have also created some simple labels to use as the perfect frame for your message.   Finally I created a repeat to use as a ground cover for the back so that you can have a continuing image on both sides of the tag.

What ya do?

Click on to the PayPal button below and start your order. It will be shipped within 24 hours.  Just print them out and enjoy them!  After your order them you will receive these images in jpg. format sent to your Pay Pal email address.  Just down load them and use them for your personal crafts and gift items.  They will arrive in 300 DPI suitable for printing and use with digital and paper crafts.  That's right just click print, cut and crate.  Oh and enjoy.  You can use these images over and over again.  Below are some pics of mine that I printed out.

I just used some stick glue and sharp paper scissors and some floss.  There is so much more like glitter etc.  I cut the tags and the labels out.  On several labels I left a slight white border when cutting to give a different effect.  After that I glue the label to the back of the tags on those that I need to leave a message like to: and From:  or With love.  I have made some fresh bread today and these will be great to use.   When I glued it to the back of the tags it made a wonderful 3D effect and with the repeat background on the tags it created a finished look.  Just think on canning projects this summer tied around the neck of the jar for your own personal use or for use when they are given as gifts.

You can even use the oval labels alone or with these tags.

Bee vs 1

As I was looking over my favorite blogs I see so many creative ways to use images.  This weekend I have been inside doing nothing but creating new things!  Here is something that you may like use it however you would like!  I have created these special tags and the repeat to use on the back (if you would like)  I make honey bread (I know this is not a honey bee) and this tag is great to attach to the loaf using a tie.   Great for handmade soaps or bee hive candles. Use a natural tie to tie up white towels in your guest bath room for that special touch.

The Grunge

Cherry 2
Working with textures in Photoshop is one of my favorite things to do.  Experimenting with different layering techniques is not only fun but can have great results.

gypsy rose

This is a great example of textures and layering.  I used a vintage scanned in Moth and then placed it over a grunge texture and created a clipping mask.  I continued in this manner using the over lay and darkening layer choices and eventually came up with this.  The moth now has texture and adds to the interest of this photograph.

Moth Rose

This is the same image less the photograph.  You see it lends it self to a completely different look.  Whenever you are creating images it is helpful that you save multiple files with varying results.  That way your image cash will have loads of choice for prospective buyers.  And that is is what its all about isn't it choice.

As always credit goes to the Graphic Fairy and Green Paper for their generosity in sharing their vintage paper stash.

What happens when it rains

I started out today to work in the garden.  I say the word garden loosely due to the fact I don't believe that I have gardened.  I believe the correct term to what I do is labor.  Labor in the dirt.  But today the heavens saw fit to open the gates and let loose the thunder and lighting and rain.  So I have had to change my day and thus I have to turn my attention to the computer and have produced this little design.  Hope that you like it.
I also worked up a quick look at this design as a paper party or gift bag.

Collage of photo's

This image was inspired by an Iphone app that I had gotten called LoMob I love it! In fact I always run my Iphone pics through it just to see if I can improve on the images. This image was created using some clip art from my favorite spot "Graphics Fairy" and some of my own family pictures that I manipulated. The film was created completely in PhotoShop and then given some age with the burn tool and some layering techniques. Hope you like.
